Access to moving and storage services is a significant barrier to fleeing abuse. In rural areas this barrier is further reinforced due to lack of readily available resources. We are recruiting volunteers who live in/near Lanark County and Kemptville. Our selfless volunteer drivers are the ‘helping hands’ and ’boots on the ground’ devoting time and energy to help those who’ve found the courage to leave. We’d love to have you on our team!

The Safety and Wellbeing Team is looking for volunteers to be part of their mission. Safety and Wellbeing Responders help in a disaster, providing emotional support to people at evacuation shelters, connecting with communities by phone or in person following a fire or flood to check how people impacted are coping, or connecting people to services within their community to support their recovery.
Emergency Management Teams across Canada are looking for volunteers to be a part of their mission. Because of our wide-reaching network of highly trained volunteers, Canadians who have found themselves impacted by disasters big and small, are able to turn to the Canadian Red Cross for relief and support.

Because of HELP volunteers, tens of thousands of Canadians who are recovering from surgery or illness are able to access health equipment that enhances mobility and independence, allowing them to recover from the comfort of their home.
