Summary: Volunteer Canada and Investors Group engaged Ipsos Public Affairs to conduct an opinion poll to examine Canadians’ perceptions and attitudes on volunteering. The results revealed that community involvement is increasingly varied and diverse, and may not always fall into the traditional definition of volunteering. There is a momentum building globally to expand the definition of volunteering to include informal volunteering, organic movements and the many ways that people put their values into action. Volunteer Canada refers to this as Individual Social Responsibility (ISR). Listen and learn from experts in the field discussing the ground-breaking volunteer recognition study from Volunteer Canada and Investors Group, Recognizing Volunteering in 2017.
