About the presenters

Omar Visram
Omar is the Co-Founder and CEO of Enkel, one of Canada’s leading accounting-as-a-service firms. For over 15 years, Omar has been active in the Canadian taxation, strategic planning, audit advisory, and finance operations disciplines within senior roles at KPMG and BCAA. Omar holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University and is a qualified CPA, CA.

Shirley Wolff
Shirley Wolff is a Senior Controller at Enkel Backoffice Solutions, heavily focused on NPO clients. Prior to joining Enkel, Shirley served as an audit partner with a focus on the government, not-for-profit and financial services sectors. Shirley led Deloitte’s audit and assurance services to public sector and not-for-profit organizations in BC for 8 years and advised her clients on the adoption of new accounting standards, accounting for complex transactions, risk management and improvements to internal controls.

Shirley is a CPA and CA and brings more than 25 years’ experience to her role at Enkel. She is the Treasurer for PLEA Community Services of BC, a member of the finance committee of The Harvest Project, and a board member for North Lonsdale United Church.

Christine Kescer
Christine Kecser is the Controller of the NPO division at Enkel. Prior to joining Enkel, Christine was very active in the nonprofit accounting and audit sector in Ontario where she was an accounting professor at the School of Business at Conestoga College, a leadership finance coach and consultant, and Executive Director at Cambridge Shelter Corporation. Christine brings over 30 years of finance and bookkeeping experience to the table and is passionate about the nonprofit sector and helping organizations better manage their finance and operations.

Christine holds a BAcc from Goodman School of Business at Brock University.
