LetsStopAIDS is a Canadian youth-HIV charity that focuses on HIV prevention and knowledge exchange by engaging young people and fostering leadership. Since 2004, we have been creating a global network of youth-HIV leaders.

Description

About you: 

We seek a Sexual Health Workshop Facilitator for our National team, ideally aged 15-30, but all are welcome. You should possess or aim to cultivate confidence in engaging with fellow young people effectively, with strong or developing communication skills to connect with peers. Your interest lies in sharing HIV and health information, offering referrals, and distributing resources. You excel in teamwork, taking direction seamlessly, and exhibit inclusivity in engaging with youth from various backgrounds and orientations, fostering community understanding.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the P2P, the Sexual Health Workshop Facilitator will (be): 

  • Collaborating with the Youth Programme Coordinator on delivering Student's Workshops and Educational Programmes, at least 2 workshops per month.

  • Support the Youth Programme Coordinator with all supplies for the Educational Session (LetsStopAIDS' materials, attendance list, pens, papers and others), organizing the room and guaranteeing that all material needed will be there and at the right place).

  • Supply health information and information packs to youth related to HIV.

  • Work cooperatively as a member of a diverse team and attend regular Students sessions and keep up to date with relevant knowledge and information.

  • Facilitate the data collection and completion of Student's questionnaires as well as with information generated after each educational session. 

LetsStopAIDS is dedicated to being representative of the communities in which we work and live. All interested individuals are encouraged to submit their application.

Dedication: 

Use for Volunteer Roles: The role will require 5-8 hours per week (and an Honorarium will be available). The successful candidate may choose to work remotely, however, will be encouraged to attend in person at least 1 day per week at our Downtown Toronto (Adelaide/John) head office. The different tasks involved may sometimes require irregular volunteer hours, particularly in times of need.

Preference will be given to someone with personal experience, relating to HIV.
