The role of the Grant Writing & Program Evaluation Director is to perform research to determine potential funding sources, apply for grants, and manage expectations and reporting required through funders, in addition to developing and maintaining program monitoring and evaluation structure and needs.
-Research, identify, and apply for grant opportunities to support our programs and projects and/or internal operations.
-Research opportunities to identify potential stakeholders who may sponsor KIDS Initiative as part of their ESG goals.
-Assist with identification of organizations who may have projects or connections to stakeholders that KIDS can support.
-Manage relationship, execution (in conjunction with Program Evaluation Director), and reporting for all grants.
-Maintain, manage, and steward relationship with MCIC as a member.
-Coordinate regular team meetings (i.e., monthly, or as otherwise determined by lead) to manage and gauge progress of all committee members.
-Monthly report to the board on all committee actions and goals.
-Manage intake checklist/opportunity checklist to screen projects that will clearly meet the goals and outcomes required by KIDS and a funding agency.
-Manage questionnaire for projects that pass Initial screening criteria.
-Develop reasonable project specific monitoring and evaluation outcome structure/plans with support in collecting data.
-In the cases where an agency "on the ground" is conducting the evaluation of a project funded by KIDS, check in at start to understand evaluation plan, offer support and keep in contact at least once every two months during the course of the project.
-Research, interview, and obtain all necessary baseline information about our programs and projects to allow for the best use of storytelling and evaluation.
-Support the Grants Director with program information to apply for grants, and data/information necessary to fulfill our requirements to report.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES
-Expertise and experience in grant research and grant writing
-Excellent writing skills
-Expertise in development of evaluation plans, logic models, and monitoring plans.
-Understanding, willingness to learn, how to apply locally culturally relevant measures of success, understand abilities to collect data at the project level, while complying with funder requirements.
-Ability to coach and work with project partners in a supportive, nonprescriptive manner, while still staying on track for evaluation requirements.
-Expertise applying evaluation at a community or small organization level.
-Ability to adapt.
KIDS Initiative Board Director roles are fully operational, this requires time commitment, skills, fulfilling key responsibilities, leading a volunteer committee, and a minimum 2 year commitment.
