Grief Literacy 101

The Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals is presenting Grief Literacy 101, an introductory workshop designed to provide a deeper understanding of grief and loss.
Participants will acquire practical skills for supporting individuals, broaden their vocabulary on grief and become empowered to navigate the complexities of this emotional journey with newfound confidence and compassion.
This workshop is inclusive of both death-related and non-death-related losses.
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- Grief and loss from a non-pathology-based orientation.
- Common myths and misconceptions about grief and loss.
- The ways grief and loss can impact our whole being.
- The metabolization of grief and what hinders/supports its metabolization.
- A social/historical context for our current relationship with grief and loss.
