Position Overview:
We are looking for a Grant Writer Volunteer at Bright Lights For Africa Foundation to support our mission by developing and writing compelling grant proposals to secure funding. Your persuasive writing and attention to detail will effectively communicate our goals and initiatives to potential funders, helping convey the impact of our work and ensuring the continuation of our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify grant opportunities and strategize to boost annual funding.
- Write persuasive grant proposals that highlight the organization’s mission and programs.
- Compile and submit grant requests, including all necessary documents.
- Conduct research to gather data for proposals.
- Report on the status of grant submissions and outcomes.
- Manage the submission process to ensure timely delivery of proposals.
- Maintain a proposal calendar and coordinate follow-ups on submissions.
Qualifications :
- Proficient in technical writing, proofreading, editing, and grant writing, with fluent communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience in grant writing and securing funding for nonprofit projects is an asset.
- Understanding of Canadian funding mechanisms is an asset.
