New Program for Youth Entering the Cyber Security Field – Youth Employment Services

April 24, 2023

Free

Hello!

My name is Renuka, I am a Career Counsellor with Youth Employment Services.

We have recently launched a new paid training program in the Cyber

Security field, and I wanted to connect with you as I thought it might be a

great fit for some of the youth that you work with. This will currently be our

second year of cohorts after the great success that the first year brought forth.

The Career Jumpstart: Cyber Security Analyst Project provides

youth with a supportive environment to obtain in-demand skills within the tech

industry and will help match young job seekers with the skills and connections

needed to fill this in-demand field, while also providing resources and

strategies to support the mental health of young workers. It is free for the learners (and they will receive a stipend to support their time in program).

We are currently looking for eager youth that fit the eligibility

requirements to be a part of this wonderful opportunity that YES has to offer,

and I was hoping you would share the flyer with any you thought might be a good fit for the program.

CJS: Cybersecurity Analyst Project will run from April 24th – August 5th, and

will feature 15 weeks of pre-employment skills, experiential learning opportunities, facilitated training, mental health resiliency focused sessions, job fairs, and more.

This program is funded by Employment Ontario’s Skills Development Fund and is created in partnership with IBM. Some financial supports available to learners. Successful participants will complete the program with the IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate and be supported in their employment search.
