KPMG released the results from the Generative AI Business Survey of 872 Canadian organizations, which found that 6 in 10 Canadian organizations have adopted generative Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity and gain a competitive advantage. According to the research, 89% of organizations described the technology as extremely or very important to their competitive advantage. Of the organizations that have yet to adopt the tool, 78% plan to implement it in the next year.

Top challenges reported regarding the implementation of generative AI:

  • 76% indicated ethical challenges
  • 74% noted security and compliance
  • 74% indicated the cost of implementation
  • 74% noted understanding and adoption among employees
  • 73% indicated the technical capability and skills required to implement
